How do I care for my Harper Clare baby knitwear

We recommend using a wash bag when washing your knitwear, as it can help reduce friction and protect the integrity of your pieces.

  • Turn garments inside out where possible
  • Use a delicates wash bag
  • Do not overload the washing machine
  • Dry flat in the shade to help retain shape
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not dry clean, bleach soak or wring

Caring for embroidered pieces

Some Harper Clare pieces feature delicate embroidery, such as our Hello World jumper.

To help protect the embroidered detail:

  • Turn the garment inside out before washing to help minimise friction against the embroidery.
  • Use a delicates wash bag to provide an extra layer of protection.
  • Wash on a cold, gentle cycle and avoid harsh detergents or treatments
  • Do not pull, pick or tug at loose embroidery threads.
  • Avoid rubbing the embroidered area, particularly when treating stains.
  • Dry flat in the shade and reshape the garment gently while damp
  • Do not iron directly over the embroidery.

As with all knitted garments, some minor changes in appearance can occur with normal wear and washing. Taking extra care around embroidered details will help keep them looking beautiful for longer.

What about stains?

Our clothes are made to be worn and enjoyed, which means little spills and everyday marks are sometimes unavoidable, especially with little ones. 

We recommend treating stains as soon as possible, as allowing a stain to sit can make it more difficult to remove.

Cotton is a natural fibre and can absorb liquids and stains, so prompt treatment is best.

For embroidered pieces, take extra care when treating stains around the embroidered area. Avoid vigorous rubbing or pulling at the embroidery, as this may cause the threads to catch or become damaged.

Stains, fading, pilling, general wear and tear, and damage caused by incorrect care or washing are not covered by our warranty.
